With research about phenomena of self-organisation a new scientific paradigm emerged during the second half of the 20th century. As a result assumptions of the scientific world view concerning formalisation, forcecasting and steering of processes have been questioned. There is not yet a philosophical foundation of the new paradigm, the existing approaches of self-organisation are scatterd and have not been unified. The aim of the project "Human Strategies in Complexity" is a contribution to the philosophical foundations of a unified theory of self-organisation. Questions that are especially treated are: How does the complex nature of the world confine the forcecasting of a system's development? How can the concept of information be reinterpreted within the perspective of evolutionary systems theory, i.e. how can the philosophical foundations of the theory of self-organisation be utilised in order to create a Unified Theory of Self-Organisation? Which possibilities of reflexive context steering and design are there within the framework of the transition of the world society towards a global information society? |
